The deadline for the comic upload is every Friday at 9:00pm PST, midnight EST. It might often be updated sooner than that, though sometimes I'll lose track of time and update several hours late in a feverish panic!
Why so infrequently?
No matter how much I love working on this comic, all of my focus will be directed on Devan's Devas, my story-based fantasy webcomic. Not to say that Dejan Voo is unimportant to me, but I want to make sure that DejanVoo has all the extra time it needs to put out quality pieces every week.
I also believe that updating a miscellaneous comic like this far too often will just burn out the humor extremely quickly. We've all seen what happens to newspaper comics over time.
Levels of violence and language?
Unlike my sister comic, Devan's Devas, there will be slightly less standards of good taste here. However, still don't expect anything grotesque or out of bounds. There will be no blood or cursing, as those clash with the general tone I'm trying to set with the comic.
Religion will be a common topic of scrutiny, however, I must state right away that I am not anti-religious, nor do I favor any individual one in particular. In fact, I have a great interest in all religions and believe each and every one of them can bring something worthwhile to the table. If I throw insults at religion, it will be towards the people who just get them wrong.
How are your comics drawn and colored?
All of them are sketched with pencil and then inked in by hand with an ordinary caligraphy pen. They are then scanned/fixed up/and colored in via Photoshop and tablet.
Lettering and text bubbles are done through illustrator for the most part.
The design of this website looks to be suspiciously similar to your other webcomic.
The design of it just works for me and fulfills what I need for both comics. Plus, it saves me a ton of coding time. I just didn't see a need to fix what's not broken here.
Plus, it creates brand consistancy. Yea, that's a good excuse.
Who and what are you exactly?
My name is Douglas Blase Loeffler and I have a bachelors in Graphic Design.
That's the truncated version.
I'm not exactly a professional writer, not exactly a professional artist, and not known for anything in particular. However, I am diligently working on improving myself in those fields over time to allow the comic to evolve into something bigger and better as it progresses.
My main goal is to make good comics and to entertain others and with all of your support I hope to succeed in that!
